ISO 9001 Revision Process Continues

As part of the revision activities being carried out by ISO, the preparation process for the new version of the ISO 9001 standard is continuing. According to official communications from ISO, the revised standard is expected to be published during 2026.

The primary objective of the revision is to support quality management systems in adapting more effectively to changing business conditions, emerging needs, and evolving stakeholder expectations.

Based on the draft documents and information shared through official communications, key focus areas are expected to include strengthening quality culture and ethical practices, providing a clearer approach to risk and opportunity management, improving the systematic evaluation of stakeholder expectations, and supporting integration with other management system standards.

According to ISO, the final version of the standard has not yet been published and revision activities are still ongoing. Following the publication of the new version, a transition period is expected to be defined for certified organizations. Details regarding the transition timeline are expected to be clarified after the revised standard is officially released.
